Battle City (آ«City battle") - known in Russia and CIS countries as "Tanchiki. One of the first games for the platform NES. Its predecessor was the arcade game Tank Battalion, released by Namco in 1980.
Polygon action visible from above. The player must, driving their tank, to destroy all enemy tanks at a level which is gradually emerging from the north playing field. Enemies are trying to destroy the base of the player (below the playing field in the form of an eagle) and its tank. At each level must be destroyed twenty enemy armored vehicles of different kinds. If the enemy can destroy a base or deprive players of all life - the game is lost.
The game consists of 35 main levels. Level - a square field of 169 sectors (13 أ— 13). With the passage of 35 levels, they begin anew, but the enemy combat units have more health, and in contact with them will appear in the bonus.

Enemy tanks:
There are four types, which differ in speed and strength:
common tank (100 points);
armored personnel carrier, which has high speed (200 points);
rapid-tank (300 points);
Heavy tank (armored), which can destroy four hits (tank changes color depending on the remaining strength) (400 points).

Fourth, eleventh and eighteenth tanks, regardless of type, appear iridescent colors. If a player gets into a tank, then appears on the card bonus. When playing alone on the map is no more than four enemy tanks simultaneously, with game two of them no more than six. In total, twenty enemy tanks on the level.

Bonuses :

There are a few bonuses:
Tank ("life"). Adds to the player one life.
Five-pointed star (the medal). Improves the player's tank (one star - increases the speed of the issued ammunition, two stars - one can make two shots before they flew to the obstacles, the three stars - the tank can break through concrete walls).
Hand grenade ("bomb"). Blasts enemy tanks on the map. For this are not given points.
Hours `. For some time, stop enemies and their gunfire.
Bayonet spade. Temporarily makes the brick wall of Staff of concrete that protects him from enemy projectiles.
Helmet. Temporarily makes the player invulnerable tank.

Just one level may get three bonuses. Taking brings a bonus 500 points. Bonus appears after hitting the flashing tank. These tanks come fourth, twelfth and eighteenth tank in a sequence.

It is worth noting that the original developers had built-in capability has two bonuses (a place in the CHR ROM allows).
